How to Add Some Fiber to Your Meal With Multi-Grain Rice
If you love eating rice like me, it’s easy to get carried away with eating too much white rice, which is high in starch but doesn’t contain much fiber. There are a few things you can do to increase your fiber intake while you still enjoy your white rice.
Instead of just having white rice, try to mix in some brown rice into your rice cooker. You can start with cooking with 1/3 brown rice and 2/3 white rice and see how you like it. If you then feel like you can add some more brown rice, you can change it up to be 1/2 brown rice and 1/2 white rice. I personally wouldn’t recommend adding more brown rice than that but if you like the taste of it, then you can certainly free to do that!
To add even more fiber to your meal, you can add 8-grain rice as well. To do this, take the desired amount of rice to your rice cooker bowl, then rinse it with water a few times until the water becomes clear. Then, add the appropriate amount of water to your rice cooker bowl and add a tablespoon of 8-grain rice for every cup of rice you used (white or brown). You don’t need to wash the 8-grain rice. Press the start button. Once the rice cooker finishes, mix the rice together with a rice paddle that came with your cooker.
Cooking rice can be daunting if you are not familiar with the process. I hope that this guide was helpful!
